Eleven special guides have been chosen to lead equally exceptional visits round Milan’s young Triennale Museum of Italian Design, providing an original and personal perspective on the history of Made in Italy design, as the museum throws its permanent collection open to the public, free of charge, during Milano Design Week, from 28th September to 10th October.

After Joseph Grima, Director of the Italian Design Museum and Giovanna Castiglioni, Vice President of the Achille Castiglioni Foundation, on Thursday 1st October it was the turn of Marva Griffin, founder and curator of SaloneSatellite, the international showcase for talented young designers under 35. The next few days will see visits led by Italo Rota, architect and designer; Gabriele Neri, professor and member of the Board of Directors of the Design Museum Foundation; Chiara Alessi, critic and curator; Fabio Novembre, architect and designer and Cristina Morozzi, critic and curator.

Each of the illustrious guides has chosen the objects of which they are most fond, which they think are most iconic, or have had a special place in their lives, from the 1,600 on exhibit in the Triennale Milano Collection. They will discuss them through the filter of their experience and personal vision. A sui generis history of design.
